Methodology. Each metro counts every camera on the open OpenStreetMap / DeFlock record within ~25 miles of its principal city; suburbs fold into that city so each metro appears once. National total is the full dataset, not a sum of metros (radii overlap). "Since 2024" uses the date a camera entered the public map. Community-maintained, ODbL-licensed, and approximate by design.
